Valaris ehf. (kt. 630625-1220, Reykjavík, Iceland) operates this website. This page explains what data the site processes, why, and what rights visitors have. It also includes the disclaimer governing the educational content published here.

What we collect

Site analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are read. The data is aggregated and contains no cookies. IP addresses are processed to derive approximate country and region but are not stored as personal data.

Web fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When fonts are fetched, Google may receive your IP address and a record of the request. We do not control what Google does with this data.

Email. If you write to pitch@valaris.is, we receive your email address, your name if you sign, and the content of your message. We use this only to reply.

Why

Site analytics are used to understand traffic patterns and improve the site. Email is used to reply to you. We do not profile individual visitors, build advertising audiences, or sell data.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is retained for the period described in Vercel’s standard policy. Email correspondence is retained as long as the conversation requires, typically up to 24 months.

Third parties

Vercel Inc. (United States) hosts the site and provides analytics. Data is processed under Vercel’s privacy terms.

Google LLC (United States) serves the web fonts. Subject to Google’s privacy policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to pitch@valaris.is. You also have the right to file a complaint with Persónuvernd, the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (personuvernd.is).
